پروتون القابضة برهاد، (PHB؛ الاسم غير الرسمي پروتون )، هي شركة لتصميم، تصنيع، وتوزيع وبيع السيارات مقرها ماليزيا. تأسست پروتون عام 1983 (وليس 1985) وكانت شركة السيارات الوطنية الوحيدة حتى تأسيس پرودا عام 1993. يقع المقر الرئيسي للشركة في شاه علام، سلانغور، ولديها مكاتب عمل إضافية في پروتون سيتي، پراق. اسم پروتون هو اختصار بالماليزية يشير للحروف الأولى من (الشركة الوطنية للسيارات).

كانت پروتون المُصنع الأصلي لمنتجات ميتسوبيشي موتورز في الثمانينيات والتسعينيات. أنتجت پروتون أول تصميماتها الأصلية (بمحركات ميتسوبيشي)، عام 2000، وارتقت ماليزيا باعتبارها الدولة الحادية عشرة في العالم بقدرتها على تصميم السيارات من الصفر.[2] منذ عقد 2000، أنتجت پروتون خليط من المركبات المهندسة محلياً والمستبدلة هندسياً. تُباع سيارات پروتون حالياً في 15 بلد على الأقل، ومعظمها في آسيا.

كانت معظم أسهم پروتون ملك HICOM، ويحمل حملة أسهم مجموعة ميتسوبيشي النسبة الأقل من الأسهم. بحلول 2005، باعت ميتسوبيشي أسهمها في پروتون إلى الوطنية القزخية، وفي 2012، استحوذت عليها DRB-HICOM بالكامل.

منذ 1996، تمتلك پروتون لوتس للسيارات. في مايو 2017، أعلنت DRB-HICOM عن خططها لبيع 49.9% من أسهمها في پروتون و51% من أسهمها في لوتس إلى جيلي القابضة للسيارات..[1] تم توقيع الصفقة في يونيو 2017، ومنذ ذلك الوقت لم تعد لوتس وحدة تابعة لپروتون.

في 29 سبتمبر 2017، أعلنت DRB-HICOM تغييرات في مجلس ادارة پروتون القابضة.[3] في أعقاب التوقيع على اتفاقية مع مجموعة زج‌يانگ جيلي القابضة الصينية في 23 يونيو 2017،[4] استحوذت الشركة الصينية على 49.9% من أسهم پروتون.

المبيعات المحلية

Proton's sales grew at a stable rate in the first decade, but plunged in 1998 due to the 1997 Asian financial crisis. Nonetheless, Proton bounced back and recorded its highest sales volume in 2002 at 214,373 units. Sales gradually decreased in the following five years due to cheaper and more competitive offerings from Perodua. Proton's sales have recovered slightly since 2008, but their market share is in a current state of decline. Proton has sold over 3,500,000 cars in Malaysia between 1985 and 2013.


A comparison of Proton & Perodua sales in the domestic market. Perodua, which started out in 1994 as a complement and not a competitor to Proton has overtaken the latter to become Malaysia's best selling car manufacturer. Perodua cars manage to sell in greater numbers due to their cheaper pricing range, in which there are few competitors, as well as their inheritance of generally better designs from their parent company, Toyota.

The Proton Saga 1.5GL Aeroback. Over 30,000 Protons were sold in the United Kingdom within its first 3 years. At its peak in 1992, one Proton was sold in Britain for every five sold in Malaysia.
A Proton Wira taxi in Pyongyang, North Korea. Proton cars have also been exported as diplomatic gifts to several countries and governments.
The Proton Jumbuck ute. It is the only Proton model of which export demand exceeded domestic demand.

Proton cars were first exported to the United Kingdom in 1989, and later Australia in 1995. British Proton sales peaked at 14,957 units in 1992, above rivals such as Hyundai (9,337), Kia (3,519), Škoda (9,365), SEAT (8,198), Lada (11,907) and even Mitsubishi (11,077).[20] Proton's best performance in Australia was in 1998, with 3,182 units sold. Since the late 90s, sales in the U.K have decreased significantly.

The Proton Iriz may receive a new 1.3-litre turbo, 6MT option in the near future.[21] A fully electric Iriz EV is also in development.[22]


The Proton Prevé will receive the all-new GDI/TGDI engine in a future facelift.
