نظرية التحديث

نظرية التحديث Modernization theory تنص على أنه يمكن تحقيق التنمية من خلال اتباع عمليات التنمية التي تم استخدامها من قبل الدول المتقدمة حاليا. علماء مثل والت روستو وA.F.K. Organski افترضا مراحل التنمية التي تطبق على كل بلد. اعتبر صمويل هنتنگتون التنمية عملية خطية على كل بلد من البلدان أن يمارسها. نظرية التحديث ،على النقيض من الليبرالية الكلاسيكية التي تنظر إلى الدولة باعتبارها لاعبا رئيسيا في تحديث "خلاق" أو "متخلف" بالنسبة للمجتمعات.
