ولاية خاتمة ([Khaatumo] Error: {{Lang-xx}}: text has italic markup (help), إنگليزية: Khatumo State)، ورسمياً اسمها ولاية خاتمة بالصومال ([Maamul Goboleedka Khaatumo ee Soomaaliya] Error: {{Lang-xx}}: text has italic markup (help)) هي نواة الصومال الحقيقي فمنها بدأت شرارة تحرير الصومال عام 1899 وقاد أهالي الإقليم نضالهم ضد الاستعمار ويتزعمهم القائد المعروف السيد محمد عبد الله حسن الجبرتي الزبيدي الشافعي العقيلي وسميت ثورته بثورة الدراويش وانتهت دولته دولة الدراويش التي كانت تهدف لجمع شمل الصوماليين وهزم السيد بعد عشرين عاما من النضال بعد ان أغارت الطائرات البريطانية على تليح عاصمته عام ١٩٢٠ وأودت بالآلاف من المناضلين الشرفاء وأسرهم. وبعد مئة عام أسس أحفادهم إقليم خاتمة في نفس المكان الذي انتهت بها دولة أسلافهم واسمها خاتمة وهي تقع في الشمال الصومالي وتضم محافظات سول Sool وسناج Sanaag وعين Cayn.

Historically, the Sool, Sanaag and Cayn (SSC) regions of Somalia served as the seats of both the Warsangeli Sultanate and the Dervish State.

الديمغرافيا

Most residents belong to the Somali ethnic group, with the Dhulbahante sub-clan of the Harti Darod especially well-represented. Other clans with a presence in the region include the Faqashini-Ayr, Abdirahman Harti (Kaskiqabe) and Gabooye.[3]
