القوات المسلحة المالية، هي الجيش، القوات الجوية، حرس السواحل، الحرس الجمهوري، الحرس الوطني، والشرطة الوطنية.[5] يبلغ قوامها 7.00 فرد وهي تحت إدارة وزارة القوات المسلحة والمحاربين القدماء. أعلنت مكتبة الكونگرس في يناير 2005 أن "العسكرية لا تتقاضى أجراً، ذات تسليح ضعيف، وبحاجة عقلنة. يعاني تنظيمها من دمج قوات الطوارق الغير نظامية مع العسكرية النظامية منذ اتفاقية 1992 بين الحكومة وقوات الطوارق المتمردة."[6]
