طينة Thinis (بالمصرية القديمة: Tjenu)، كانت عاصمة الأسرات الأولى في مصر القديمة. طينة، الآن، هي مدينة غير مكتشفة لكنها موثقة جيداً عن طريق الكتابات القديمة، وتشمل كتابات المؤرخ الكلاسيكي مانيتو، الذي كتب أنها كانت مركز الحلف الطيني، حلف قبلي كان يتزعمه مينا (أو نارمر) موحد القطرين وكان أول فرعانة مصر. بدأت أهمية طينة تتراجع من عصر الأسرة الثالثة، عندما أصبحت ممفيس عاصمة للبلاد. تقع طينة على حدود أسر هراكليوپوليتان وطيبة المتنافستان، في الفترة الانتقالية الأولى، وقربها من بعض الواحات أكسبها أهمية عسكرية محتملة، وكفل لطينة أهميتها المستمرة في الدولتين القديمة والجديدة. كان هذا لفترة وجيزة وفي النهاية فقدت طينة أهميتها كمركز اداري اقليمي بحلول العصر الروماني.

بسبب غرثها القديم، ظلت طينة مركز ديني بارز، حيث تضم مقابر ومومياوات للآلهة المحليين. في الشعائر الدينية المصرية القديمة، كما يظهر في كتاب الموتى، على سبيل المثال، لعبة طينة دوراً كمكان أسطوري في الجحيم.

بالرغم من أن موقع طينة غير معروف إلا أن علماء المصريات أجمعوا على أنه كان في محيط أبيدوس القديمة وجرجا الحديثة.
