تحديث

التحديث Modernization واحد من مظاهر وأنماط التغير الاجتماعي هو استبدال الأسلوب التقني التقليدي وما يرتبط به من أنماط تتصل بحياة الأشخاص أو الجماعات أو المجتمعات وذلك بأسلوب أكثر حداثة ومعاصرة ، وعندما كان هذا التحول تغيراً ، فان التحول المعاكس يكون تغيراً أيضاً ؛ ولكنه بالطبع ليس تحديثاً وبالنظر إلى التحديث كنوع من التقليد أو التبعية للغرب فإن هذا المفـهوم ( التحديث ) يكون مقبولاً لدى بعض الناس في بعض المجتمعات ومرفوضاً لدى البعض الآخر على أنه ينطوي على نوع من الابتداع أو البدعة ، بينما قبول التغير أو رفضه يعتمد على ما يتضمنه هذا التغير ، فهو لا يرفض ولا يقبل كمفهوم فقط.(الخولي : 1985).
