• This template uses {{Navbox with collapsible sections}}. To show a particular section of the template while leaving the other sections collapsed, use {{NYGovernors |expanded=Section}}, where Section is one of "Governors" or "Lt. Governors". (Omit any speech or quotemarks.)
• To control the expansion of both sections independently, use the selected, state1, and state2 parameters "expanded" will expand the sections and "collapsed" will collapse them and selected must be blank. See David Paterson for an example of this use.
