في الولايات المتحدة، يُستخدم المصطلح السياسي غير الرسمي "قيصر" في وسائل الإعلام والاستخدام الشعبي للإشارة إلى المسؤولين رفيعي المستوى الذين يشرفون على سياسة معينة. لم يكن هناك أبدًا أي مناصب حكومية أمريكية تحمل لقب "قيصر"، ولكن تم الإشارة أحيانًا إلى العديد من المسؤولين الحكوميين باللقب "القيصر" بدلاً من لقبهم الفعلي.
