ذنب الجدي أو دلتا الجدي Delta Capricorni اسمه التقليدي Deneb Algedi مشتق من الاسم العربي. و هو نجم متعدد في كوكبة الجدي يبعد حوالي 39 سنة ضوئية عن الكوكبة. النجم الرئيسي هو نجم عملاق أبيض. و بما أنه قريب من مسير الشمس من الممكن أن يحتجب بالقمر أو الكواكب.^[1]

يتألف هذا النظام النجمي من أربع نجوم ينتمي النجم الرئيسي إلى الفئة الطيفية A .^[2]

According to astrology, Delta Capricorni's representation of a flexible tail is reflected in its association with both good and bad fortune alike.^[12] It was one of the fifteen Behenian stars of medieval astrology, associated with chalcedony, marjoram and the kabbalistic symbol .
