البَرْواق نبات شديد التحمّل، من نباتات منطقة البحر الأبيض المتوسط. تنبت أزهاره الصفراء الشاحبة والبوقية الشكل في عناقيد خفيفة . أما جذوره فهي سميكة وبدينة. ولنبات البرواق أوراق طويلة ورفيعة تنمو في شكل مجموعات وتشبه إلى حد كبير أوراق النرجس البري.
