نظرية كل شيء (The theory of everything) أو اختصارا TOE تشكل وصفا في المجال النظري للفيزياء والرياضيات لنظرية قادرة على تفسير جميع الظواهر الفيزيائية بشكل كامل وربطها معاُ (أي كل شىء). في البداية كان المصطلح يستخدم لوصف بعض النظريات العامة بطريقة ساخرة على أنها نظريات لكل شيء لعموميتها الواسعة، مع مرور الوقت ترسخ استخدام المصطلح مع فيزياء الكم لوصف النظرية التي تستطيع ربط أو توحيد النظريات المتعلقة بالتفاعلات الرئيسية الأربعة في الطبيعة (قوة نووية قوية، قوة نووية ضعيفة، قوة كهرومغناطيسية،الجاذبية) ، أحد المؤمنين في العصر الحديث بإمكانية التوصل لهذه النظرية هو الفيزيائي ستيفن هوكينغ.

Laplace famously suggested that a sufficiently powerful intellect could, if it knew the velocity of every particle at a given time, along with the laws of nature, calculate the position of any particle at any other time:

An intellect which at a certain moment would know all forces that set nature in motion, and all positions of all items of which nature is composed, if this intellect were also vast enough to submit these data to analysis, it would embrace in a single formula the movements of the greatest bodies of the universe and those of the tiniest atom; for such an intellect nothing would be uncertain and the future just like the past would be present before its eyes.

Although modern quantum mechanics suggests that uncertainty is inescapable, a "single formula" may nevertheless exist.
