KSU Gazal-1

King Saud University Gazelle-1 (Arabic: الغزال) is a multi-purpose sports car developed by students at King Saud University in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Ghazal Company for Automotive and Spare Parts Manufacturing was established by King Saud University through its investment arm (Riyadh Valley Technology Company) with a capital of 100 million riyals to enter the automotive industry after the university’s success, through special efforts, in manufacturing the first model of the Saudi car, the “car.” Al-Ghazal” and displayed it at the Geneva International Exhibition. It gained admiration for the young Saudi scientific capabilities in design and manufacturing and obtained patents on some of its pieces.

Within 3 years, the company will implement the executive plan to manufacture Gazelle cars and develop a base for manufacturing and developing cars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Production began on June 14, 2010 during the reign of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia for several Gazelle cars. He registered patents for the car. He stated in a television interview that qualitative environmental tests were conducted, such as camel collision tolerance, and 467 cars were produced for general testing.

It was likely that it would be put on the market at the beginning of 2014, but the project to manufacture the Gazelle car was halted for many reasons, while the university continued developing the cars.
