| Description |
English: This lacquer casket shows Fath 'Ali Shah, the second ruler of the Qajar dynasty. The top panel depicts Fath’Ali Shah seated on the Sun Throne surrounded by three of his sons, ministers and elite. The side panels: indicating applied cusped medallions against a gul-o bulbul ground, some with figures in European dress alternating with other medallions depicting women and elders in courtly outdoor settings as well as hunting scenes.
Deutsch: Bemalter Holzkasten in bunten Farben mit miniaturartiger Malerei: auf Mittelstück des Deckeln persischer Fürst (Fatali-Schah, 1801-1826) auf Thron, vom Hofstaat umgeben, in Medaillons Brustbilder schöner Frauen und Szenen, dazwischen Goldgrund mit Blumen, seitlich Jagdfrauen. Im Kasteninneren drei Fächer-Abteilungen für Instrumente.
