دورة الصخور rock cycle تصف كل العمليات التي يتكون بها صخر من نوعية ما من النوعين الآخرين. فالصخور الرسوبية تتحول إلى الصخور المتحولة أو تنصهر لتنشأ الصخور النارية. وقد ترفع إلى سطح الأرض ليتم تعريتها لتتكون الرواسب التي تتصلب لتكون الصخور الرسوبية مرة ثانية.
