ماري سمرڤيل Mary Fairfax Somerville (26 ديسمبر 1780 - 28 نوفمبر 1872), اسكتلندي كاتب علوم و polymath, في وقت كانت فيه مشاركة المرأة في العلوم تشعر بالإحباط, درست الرياضيات و علم الفلك، وكانت ثاني عالمة امرأة تحصل على اعتراف في المملكة المتحدة بعد كارولين هيرشيل.

وهي ابنة السير الأميرال وليام جورج فيرفاكس، ولدت في منزل القس في جودبرج، في حدود، في منزل شقيقة والدتها، زوجة الدكتور توماس سوميرفيل (1741-1830)،
