| Description | "The Row" of town houses at 1(right)-13(left) Washington Square North between Fifth Avenue and University Place in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1832-33. Some of these (#7-13, nearest the camera) are only facades, having been gutted to make multiple-dwelling housing, with an entrance pergola facing Fifth Avenue. This is owned by New York University, and is sometimes referred to as "One-Half Fifth Avenue". Also #3 was given a new facade in 1884, designed by J.E. Terhune.
