English: 051006-N-2838C-005 Persian Gulf (Oct. 6, 2005) - An S-3B Viking, assigned to the “Scouts” of Sea Control Squadron 24 (VS-24), is launched off the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Roosevelt and embarked Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8) are currently underway on a regularly scheduled deployment conducting maritime security operations.
