English: Heðin Mortensen has been Mayor of Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, since 2005. In November 2012 he broka all previous records by getting 2637 personal votes at the elections for the city council of Tórshavn. He was elected for the Social Democratic (Javnaðarflokkurin), which got 4599 votes and 7 of 13 members. 11.135 people voted for the elections in Tórshavn. Mr. Mortensen has earlier been a member of the Faroese Parliament (Løgtingið) from 1998 to 2004 for Sambandsflokkurin (Union Party).
