English: Ysbyty Abergele Hospital Originally built as a sanatorium, the site was purchased by Manchester City Council in 1914 and expanded to provide specialist accommodation for children suffering from tuberculosis. The clean Welsh air was beneficial, but visiting was an ordeal! |
