| Description |
English: 'Tram' engine at Stratford Locomotive Depot. This is not a brake-van, but is a small '0-6-0T' with 3'1" wheels, Class J70 built specially for working on the several roadside tramways in East Anglia, with protection from horses (and people) by its skirting, cow-catchers (removed here) and speed restricted by governors to 8 mph. No. 8226 seen here worked on Hythe Docks at Colchester: it lasted until 1955. |
