| Description | Spirit of 12 Wall. Much is made of the so called "12th Man" in Seattle, but originally, it wasn't the "12th Man." It was just 12 retired to the "Fans." Hence the #12 jersey just says Fan on the back. At the time for a newer, struggling and pre-cap era franchise, and in the Kingdome the fans really could take over games and provide the Seahawks with a special homefield advantage. With Paul Allen, and some of the executives they've brought in they wanted to get back in touch with that after being lost in the desert of the 90's. But I can't help but say this missed the mark. 12th Man: Bad #12 for the Fans: Good. In any case, this display is ment to publicly pay respect to that tradition, and the new 12th man tradition that seems to be arising from it. |
