| Description |
English: Autistic "special interests" are passions that are deep and narrow in focus. Autistic people can hyperfocus on their interests and discuss them at length. These interests can be a source of great joy, and pursuing them can help with skill development. Research has suggested that incorporating special interests in the classroom can help with social integration and mood as well as academic goals. |
