نقطة ساخنة Hotspot، منطقة نشاط حراري وبركاني في القشرة الأرضية، وهي تعبير على سطح الأرض عن بلوم ساخن صاعد من الوشاح، وتغطي مساحة 100-200 كيلو متر مربع، وتستمر في موقعها عشرات الملايين من السنين. وتمثل جزر هاواي نقطة ساخنة.^[1]
