كراكاتاو (إندونيسية: Krakataucode: id is deprecated ؛ إنگليزية: Krakatoacode: en is deprecated ) جزيرة بركانية تقع في مضيق سوندا في منتصف المسافة تقريباً بين سومطرة وجاوة. وقد ثار بركان الجزيرة في أغسطس 1883، مما تسبب في حدوث واحدة من أسوأ الكوارث في العالم. فقد تناثر معظم الجزيرة إلى أجزاء، وضربت موجة مدية عاتية شواطئ الجزر القريبة، مما أدى إلى مقتل 36,000 شخص. وظل الرماد البركاني عالقًا في سماء المنطقة وحولها لمدة عام.
