نلسون ألدريتش روكفلر Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller ‏(8 يوليو 190826 يناير 1979) كان رجل أعمال أمريكي، ورجل بر وموظف عمومي وسياسي. وقد عمل نائب رئيس الولايات المتحدة رقم 41 (1974–1977) تحت الرئيس جرالد فورد، وحاكم نيويورك رقم 49 (1959–1973). كما خدم في ادارات الرؤساء فرانكلن روزڤلت، هاري ترومان، ودوايت أيزنهاور في مناصب مختلفة. وكعضو في أسرة روكفلر، فقد كان جامعاً بارزاً للتحف الفنية.

In taking over control of the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority, Rockefeller shifted power away from Robert Moses, and in doing so became the first politician to win such a battle with the master builder Moses in decades.

Following President Nixon's resignation on August 9, 1974, President Gerald Ford nominated Rockefeller on August 20 to serve as Vice President of the United States. Rockefeller's top competitor had been جورج هـ.و. بوش.

وفاته

Rockefeller died on January 26, 1979, at age 70 from a heart attack. An initial report had incorrectly stated that he was at his office at Rockefeller Center working on a book about his art collection, and a security guard found him slumped over his desk.[2][3]
