سريلانكا أو سيريلانكا جزيرة كبيرة في المحيط الهندي جنوب الهند. جرت فيها حرب أهلية بين الأقلية التاميلية في الشمال والأغلبية السينهالية في الجنوب من 1983 حتى 2001.

جزيرة سريلانكا التي تقع في المحيط الهندي يحدها خليج البنغال من جهة الشمال الشرقي. مستقلة عن الكتلة القارية الهندية ويفصلها عنها خليج مانار.
الجزيرة الشبيه بالكمثرى تتكون من غابات ساحلية مع وجود جبال في الجزء الجنوبي منها.
مناخ سريلانكا استوائي وتهب عليها رياح موسمية من الجهة الشمالية الشرقية من ديسمبر حتى مارس، ومن الجهة الجنوبية الغربية من يونيو حتى أكتوبر.
